Planning staff reported that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers informed county staff it would prefer the county amend its text to allow a preliminary jurisdictional determination or a letter of concurrence in place of an "approved jurisdictional determination." Staff presented the proposed language and the commission held a public hearing (no speakers) before voting to recommend the amendment to county council.
Separately, staff presented a text amendment to add a definition and small-scale allowance for wild game processing ("an animal facility that processes wild animals small scale"). The commission voted to recommend that amendment as well.
A committee member said, as a matter of prudence, the commission should vote to give council a clear recommendation; the commission moved and carried votes on both text amendments. The items will proceed to county council for final action.
