The board recognized multiple students for academic achievements: several students were named National Merit Commended, two were National Merit Semi-Finalists, and four students received perfect ACT scores of 36. Chad Dougherty presented certificates to the students; Board President Dave Kurlinkus participated in certificate presentation.
In a separate presentation, Jennifer Simpson of the Math Department described a new AP Pre-Calculus course offered this year. Simpson noted Algebra II is the prerequisite, current enrollment is limited to juniors though seniors may enroll, and staff completed an intensive four-day training on curriculum and AP-test layout. The board recorded these recognitions and the presentation in the open session minutes.
