Councilors approved the Chamber of Commerce's Sip‑N‑Chat request with a condition that any events requiring banquet permits inside Town Hall be reviewed by the council. Council Member Aaron Studen moved to approve the request under that precedent, Council Member Tim Matsui seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
Separately, Mayor Smith said the Finance Committee has not yet reviewed the Chamber's contract-renewal request and the council asked the item be returned after committee review. Resident Leone Edson had questioned whether the Chamber was requesting $40,000 for operations; the council did not act on the contract-renewal request at this meeting and deferred further action pending the Finance Committee report.
