Clerk Kilmer reported that he met with auditors and that, consistent with earlier 2024 audits, there will be another finding for 2023 because the town did not pass the federal purchasing policy until 2024. He told the council the issue has been cleaned up and addressed and that the report should be published before the end of the year.
Kilmer said he does not like there being a finding but that steps were taken to correct the deficiency so it should not recur. The minutes do not include the auditors’ written findings or any dollar amounts tied to the finding; council members did not record further questions in the minutes. Staff or the clerk’s office should publish the final audit report when available.
