The board also approved the hiring of William Bacon and administered his oath. The board accepted resignations from Officer Meehan and Officer Suspenzi, all by unanimous votes.
Chief Copp led additional police-department business. The board approved annual body-camera cloud storage for three cameras not to exceed $5,285. Copp said the state changed the wording on traffic tickets and, to save funds, he created labels to affix to existing tickets rather than purchasing new forms. Trustees briefly discussed proposed hourly wage increases (patrolman to $25.00; sergeant to $27.50; chief to $30.00) to remain competitive amid staffing shortages; no decision was made and the issue was tabled for future consideration. Copp also reported firearms qualifications due in February, upcoming ammunition procurement contingent on staffing, and monthly call statistics (24 calls since Dec. 11, including 8 in 2025).
