Sewer project about 89% complete, board says; some homeowners may need pumps

President Giles told the Village of Holiday Hills board at its Feb. 19 meeting that the village sewer project is “continuing and is about 89% complete.” He said crews are working in the Vaupell area and laterals are being installed, and that contractor Trine will delay additional work until the recently granted $1,000,000 is released to the project.
Giles said a map identifying potential streets north of Vaupell was distributed to trustees and that, because of the water table and sewer depths in some areas, “some homeowners may be affected with pumps.” He said affected homeowners will be contacted directly and will have some choice about lateral placement. He also reiterated that Nunda Township will continue snowplowing on all roads except those with construction cuts, which will be the construction company’s responsibility.
The update was delivered during the President’s report and no formal vote was required. The board did not identify a schedule for notifying residents about required pump installations; Giles said the village will contact homeowners. The board did not indicate a revised project completion date beyond the percent-complete figure provided.
