Police report: 33 calls since Nov. 13; two officers resigned effective Dec. 11

Commander Copp delivered the police department’s monthly report and said the department handled 33 calls between Nov. 13 and Dec. 11, including five traffic incidents (two citations and three warnings) and six calls routed to the McHenry County Sheriff Office. He cited Chapter 5-5-1-9 of the village ordinance requiring vehicle stickers to be displayed on vehicles.
Commander Copp also said letters have been sent to residents as warnings for ordinance violations with a usual 10-day cure period before violations are issued, stressing the village seeks compliance rather than revenue. He reported that two officers have resigned and that an officer named Tado submitted a resignation effective Dec. 11, 2024; any personnel actions were not voted on and will be presented at the January meeting. Chief Caldwell also gave holiday-safety reminders and urged residents to call 911 in emergencies.
