Holiday Hills accepts taser grant; board approves body cameras purchase

Commander Billy Copp told trustees the remaining balance of $11,013.60 will be invoiced over four years beginning in 2026 to cover docking stations, training and accessories.
Trustees also approved purchasing four used body cameras from the Kewanee Police Department for not more than $1,000. Commander Copp noted the state mandate for body-worn cameras and said the village has to secure storage for recorded footage and is seeking additional quotes from Motorola for storage solutions. "Commander Copp has contacted the Kewanee PD for the purchase of 4 body cameras," the minutes record.
The board recorded approval to accept the taser grant paperwork and to move forward with equipment procurement; financing terms for the tasers were clarified as an invoice schedule beginning in 2026.
