County Manager announced Sept. 10 that an independent review of Seminole County Animal Services has been initiated and will begin this week. The manager said the review will be conducted by an outside consultant who will receive public records and interview staff; the county manager's office and human‑resources will not direct the review and the reviewer will report directly back to the manager's office and then to the commissioners.
The manager said the review team has been given public records requested by the consultant and that interviews with the Animal Services team will be conducted confidentially. Commissioners asked that the final reporting include both unit‑level findings and any system‑wide recommendations that affect other departments.
