Board upholds fine and six‑month suspension for 3460 North Avenida San Gabriel

City staff told the Administrative Appeals Board on July 15 that a disturbance response at 3460 North Avenida San Gabriel on May 23 found guests who had booked through Airbnb but for whom staff could not locate a contract summary in the city’s records. ‘‘On Saturday, 05/23/2026... I was unable to locate any submissions,’’ Officer Jose Guerrero said while describing the investigation that led to citation AB0817 for failure to submit the required contract summary.
Appellant Zach Dimontoni told the board he and his wife were new to vacation‑rental ownership and that the omission (a friends‑and‑family contract summary) was an oversight amid parenting and work responsibilities. ‘‘We totally understand and take full responsibility that we made a mistake, and we are more than willing to pay the fines,’’ Dimontoni said. Board members said they sympathize but noted that good faith is not a defense under the municipal code, and they voted 5-0 to uphold the fine and suspension.
