The Seminole County Board approved two special‑event permits Sept. 10 following staff presentations and brief applicant remarks.
Planning staff recommended approval of the Holy Trinity Greek Fest (Nov. 1–3, 2024) at Trinity Drive in Altamonte Springs, with an estimated peak attendance of 4,500 on Saturday. Applicant Sofia Cordova said the organizer Joyce Yarborough was on medical leave and asked for the board’s support; the board approved the permit subject to staff recommendations.
The board also approved Servefest (Oct. 11–13, 2024) at 1990 Lake Emma Road, presented by Mary Robinson. Father Lubriz Sabrinas described the event’s cultural programming and said attendance is expected to be roughly 750 per day. Commissioners required amplified sound to end at 10 p.m. and asked that next year’s permit return to the board for review so the county can evaluate neighborhood impacts. Off‑duty deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will provide traffic control under the special‑event conditions.
