Superintendent: Avon construction nearly finished but flooring subcontractor holding work

The superintendent reported the Avon project is in the final stages but that a subcontractor installing flooring has refused to proceed without a "no-harm clause," despite materials being on-site. "CAD has purchased a flooring company," the superintendent said in explaining procurement and subcontractor relationships, and he added the materials are sitting ready to be laid pending contractor sign-off.
He said the district hopes to resolve the issue quickly because other work (bleachers and edging) is held up while flooring remains uninstalled; furnishings for both projects are expected "as early as the 26th and 27th this month," he said. Board members pressed for follow-up meetings with the contractor and for continued pressure on vendors to finish outstanding punch-list items.
