Principal highlights student growth and athletes' milestones as school year resumes

Principal Anderson opened the board's reports with a summary of the return-to-school activities and academic progress. "On January 7 we welcomed students back to campus," Anderson said, and she pointed to STAR benchmark results showing most grade levels above 60% growth from fall to winter. Anderson credited recent professional development with ULLC for supporting classroom instruction.
Anderson also recognized athletic achievements and student milestones, naming Alyssa Berry, Aiden Stromson, Riley Wason and Kennedy Quinn as athletes of the week and congratulating Kennedy Quinn on scoring her 1,000th point. She said four students who had been credit-deficient at the end of the prior school year completed their requirements by December and were awarded diplomas. The report included an announcement that the school will retire a jersey and hang a banner at a Jan. 24 boys basketball game.
