The Faribault County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted Resolution 26-16 on April 7, 2026, establishing an Absentee Ballot Board to process returned absentee ballots in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 203B.121, Subd. 1. The resolution names Kim Poole, Samantha Swanson, Charles (Chuck) Schrader and Darrel Boeckman as participants or identifies the board will consist of a sufficient number of trained election judges or deputy county auditors.
County officials recorded that the board took the step to ensure uniformity in processing and counting absentee ballots for upcoming elections. The resolution was adopted under statutory authority cited in the minutes; the board did not record dissent and listed all five commissioners as voting yes.
