Finance director reports $13.14M in Winnebago taxes and $8.13M in state Evidence-Based Funding; budget hearing set for Sept. 17

Finance Director Justin Krueger reported that the district received $13,142,793.25 in first- and second-distribution Winnebago tax receipts in July and $8,131,387.63 in Evidence-Based Funding from the State of Illinois.
Krueger told the board that year-to-date revenues and expenses align with the tentative budget and that multiple statutory reports (TRS annual certification, ISBE transportation claim, site-based expenditure report and Medicaid financial collection report) were completed on time. He said audit fieldwork for FY25 was conducted July 14–15 and that the 2025–26 budget hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2025; the tentative budget is available for public inspection at the district office.
