The Hononegah Community High School Board of Education approved a slate of personnel actions after returning from closed session at 10:28 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2025. The board accepted two resignations — Jorge Pichardo as Girls Head Cross Country Coach and Verneda Kessling as a paraprofessional — and approved a set of hires and personnel-pay decisions brought forward by administration.
The board voted to employ Sean Huffstutler as Director of Buildings and Grounds (replacing David Berg) and to hire Andrea Sowers as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent (replacing Erika Edgar). The board also approved Carrie Roberts and Kimberly Morales as custodians and appointed Mark McLarty as Head Girls Cross Country Coach. The personnel package included approval of personnel pay rates for 2025–26, IMRF employer-paid member contributions for directors, one Flag Football assistant coach position, and four PAC student worker positions. “Motion by Geddeis, seconded by Flohr to approve the resignations, employments, and other as discussed in Closed Session,” the meeting record states.
Board members voted unanimously on the package. The action was presented as recommendations from the board’s Policy & Personnel and Finance committees, and the hires were recorded as replacements where noted.
