Tom Bunn, director of information technology, presented February help-desk statistics and described active and planned IT initiatives to the committee. He said the department logged 378 new support tickets in February, resolved 87% (244) and averaged 1.4 hours per ticket to resolution. Ongoing operational work includes removal and redeployment of high-value equipment from the County Office Building and coordination of copier pickup with Toshiba.
Bunn detailed strategic projects: building a secure internal AI chatbot using Microsoft Copilot for staff access to policies and procedures, preparing an RFP for ERP time-management and a separate copier/print management RFP, an AI training rollout tied to the Legislature’s AI policy (54% of staff completed training as of March 2), and an upgrade of the door access control system to Verkada to integrate cameras and visitor management. He also reported substantial progress on a county-wide network infrastructure project and coordination with Tyler Technologies for an ERP assessment. The committee received the report for informational purposes.
