County reports debris pickup about 85% complete; FEMA and right-of-entry forms limit pace

Emergency management staff noted constraints from FEMA'authorized contractors and the need for right-of-entry forms for private neighborhoods, which can delay pickup.
Commissioners asked whether additional FEMA-approved contractors could be recruited as other jurisdictions complete their work; staff said the county has increased assets since Thanksgiving and is seeking additional crews as others finish. Staff estimated the majority of debris removal would be completed by Christmas, but cautioned that residual material and hard-to-reach "last sticks" will take longer.
