Chief of Staff Chris Cloud told the board that while the county website is largely compliant with accessibility requirements, more than 7,500 PDF files remain inaccessible. He presented an agreement with Recite Me NA LLC to open PDFs in an accessible format as a stop-gap measure while a long-term solution is implemented to meet a 2024 Department of Justice accessibility requirement.
Commissioner Ronald W. Turpin moved approval of the agreement and Commissioner Therese M. Brown seconded; the board approved the Recite Me agreement 3-0. Cloud described the contract as a temporary compliance measure; the county intends to adopt a long-term solution later.
