Horry County Council approved a series of land-use items on Jan. 7, ranging from individual rezoning petitions to broader code amendments. After votes recorded on the floor, ordinances 145, 146, 147, 148, 151 and 152 passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition, while ordinances 149 and 153 passed with recorded tallies of 11 in favor and 1 against.
Council also held second readings and a public hearing for ordinance 154 (which amends chapter 18 of the Land Development Regulations regarding regulatory permits and authorizations) and took up ordinance 155 to amend multiple sections of the zoning ordinance related to permitted uses and wild-game processing; both ordinance items passed with no recorded public opposition. Several items were handled in sequence with little public comment; the council noted tabling of a separate construction-related filing pending further information.
