"I do a lot of things as chairman, but this is one of the best ones that I get to do," the chair said.
Council members sworn in included Dennis DeSoto and Olivia Grace for District 3, Gary Loftus, Cam Crawford, Heather Ammons Crawford (introduced as a state representative from District 68), Mark Causey for District 9 and Danny Hardy. Several representatives offered brief remarks after their oaths, thanking family, constituents and county staff.
The chair recognized long-serving official Gosnell for 34 years of service and said the county was in "the best shape it's been in maybe ever." The ceremony ended with an announcement of light refreshments and formal adjournment.
