An IT presenter summarized the county’s web accessibility plan and timeline. The presenter said the county must meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 by April 24, 2026 and that staff are evaluating vendors and remediation steps.
"We have to follow or we're going to have to follow the web web content accessibility guidelines, otherwise referred to as WCAG 2.1, by April 24, 2026," the presenter said. Staff noted prior updates (font sizes, color differentiation, live‑video closed captioning) are in place and that the next steps are vendor selection and a remediation schedule to address remaining gaps in recorded video and third‑party components.
The presenter said the county is in a stronger position than originally expected and expects to select a vendor by the end of the year, with a full remediation roadmap identified by Q1 2025.
