Abingdon-Avon CUSD 276 Board of Education approved its agenda and consent agenda and took several routine actions, including awarding procurement contracts and accepting a personnel report.
During action items the board voted to award a fuel bid to Hair Petroleum and a milk bid to Prairie Farms. On the fuel item a staff member said, "We can lock in at 2 75, which I thought was pretty reasonable, or we could go flex, which means it could go down, but it could also go up." The board voted to accept the fixed option as presented. On the milk procurement the staff member observed, "It is the only bid." The board approved the milk contract with Prairie Farms.
The board moved policy 7.6 to a first reading; members noted that the rate-setting and formal approval would occur at the next meeting when the item returns for a second reading. The July 25 personnel report was approved; a board member stated, "Carrie Dunn is leaving." The meeting adjourned following an executive-session motion.
Votes were recorded in roll-call fashion during each action item; the transcript records the sequence of yes/no responses as read aloud during votes (for example, one recorded dissent on the policy language vote where "Rick" is indicated as voting no).
