Commission authorizes highway department to sign new road-software contract after $17,940 setup quote

"It's gonna cost $17,940 to sign on with this this company," the highway superintendent said when describing the one-time setup and the first-year fee breakdown (one-time setup $11,450 plus $6,490). Commissioners discussed funding the upfront cost from Road and Bridge funds or including it in the 2027 budget and voted to authorize the expenditure and allow either the chairman or the highway superintendent to sign the contract.
Officials noted there will be an ongoing annual cost after the startup fee and that data transfer and initial configuration are included in the startup amount. The board instructed staff to follow up on contract review details and to return with any final edits if needed.
