The Nutter Fort Town Council voted unanimously Jan. 13 to proceed with next steps to offer town employees an optional supplemental-benefit program presented by Bearing Advisors. Councilor Shawn Spurlock moved the measure and Councilor Sam Maxson seconded; the motion passed on a roll call with all members voting yes.
Robert Matheny presented additional information elaborating on material previously provided by Bobby and Sharon Monroe at an Oct. 28, 2025 meeting, describing the program as intended to "fill in the gaps" of existing health benefits rather than replace them. Council members recorded their support in a roll call; Recorder Natalie Haddix's vote was recorded as yes in the minutes. The council did not attach conditions or an implementation date in the recorded motion.
