Yates County to participate in Round 5 State Septic System Replacement Program (up to $400,000)

The Yates County Legislature authorized the Chair to sign the Round 5 State Septic System Replacement Program County Participation Agreement with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation, accepting up to $400,000 in Round 5 funds.
Under the program, property owners in designated Priority Geographic Areas may be reimbursed for up to 50% of eligible septic-system project costs (not to exceed $10,000) or up to 75% of eligible costs for enhanced septic systems (not to exceed $25,000). The county will administer the program through its Planning Department and the Director of Finance is authorized to deposit grant funds into the appropriate budget line.
Resolutions directed copies of the agreement to the EFC, the County Administrator, the Director of Finance and the Director of Planning. The vote was unanimous.
