County accepts $30,000 specialty-court award for Assisted Outpatient Treatment; no county funds required

Judge Nick St. Peter addressed the commission about the FY2027 Specialty Court Funding Award Agreement between the Kansas Office of Judicial Administration and Cowley County District Court for the Four County Mental Health Center Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Program. St. Peter said the award totals $30,000 and that the county will not be required to provide funding, although some administrative work will be necessary.
Chairman Jim Maxwell moved to accept the award agreement, Commissioner Wayne Wilt seconded, and the board approved the agreement by a 2-0 vote. The approval enables district court and program partners to proceed with program administration under the terms of the award.
