The Health & Human Services Committee approved three resolutions authorizing contracts related to animal services on March 11, 2026. Resolution 3-26-HH-1 authorized a contract with Canine Cove; Resolutions 3-26-HH-2 and 3-26-HH-3 authorized contracts with Annette Otis, DVM, and Paula Ospina, respectively, for rabies specimen preparation services.
During consideration of 3-26-HH-2, Legislator Ben Vitale moved to add a veterinarian euthanasia rate of $50.00; the motion was seconded by Legislator Aileen McNabb-Coleman and the amended resolution passed with all members in favor. Motions for the other animal-services contracts were made and seconded (3-26-HH-1: McNabb-Coleman/Winslow; 3-26-HH-3: Vitale/McNabb-Coleman) and recorded as approved unanimously.
