Commission approves speed awareness zone on County Road 25 north of White

Matt Lagerstrom, mayor of White, told the commission residents asked for a 'zone of awareness' along County Road 25 where an access road parallels the highway to reduce speed through a hill crest and near the golf-course access.
"Having people slow down a little bit...creates a good safety awareness zone," Lagerstrom said, urging slower speeds as golf season begins. Highway head Brian told the board the ordinance’s effective date is June 4 and that signs would be installed that day; commissioners voted to approve the zone.
The action directs installation of signage and sets the effective date; highway staff will schedule work and confirm timing with the mayor’s office.
