Theresa Hellman, owner of Bella Casa wedding and event venue, told the commission she seeks a retail on/off-sale malt-beverage and South Dakota farm wine license for bottle and keg sales at events up to about 100 people.
"I'm actually not going to be allowing hard liquor on the property even for events," Hellman said, adding she expects to sell wine by the bottle or glass and beer by bottle or keg. After the public hearing, the commission approved the license; the county clerk read that the license will be effective 07/01/2026 so no sales occur prior to that date.
The license was approved by roll call (motion carried). The clerk noted the owner was aware of the effective date requirement.
