Human Resources Director Marvin Scott introduced Bolton Partners consultant Dan Riberger, who described a five‑phase compensation and classification review for Fort Myers. The study will assess pay philosophy, job descriptions, total compensation (pay, benefits, retirement) and market comparisons, and includes interviews with department heads and an employee questionnaire. "We are a national total compensation consulting firm," Riberger said as he described the firm’s experience and process.
The consultant said peer selection will be driven by geography and job similarity; he noted Lakeland as an example of a comparably sized public‑sector client. Council members pressed for completion within the city’s contract window; Riberger affirmed the team expects to deliver work that will allow the city to act before the September 30, 2025 deadline. Implementation planning and communication with employees will follow the market analysis and draft recommendations.
