Ellis County commissioners approve consent agenda, executive sessions and record votes

The Board of Ellis County Commissioners opened its July 7 meeting by approving the draft minutes of June 16 and adopting the Consent Agenda (items A–G) by a 3–0 voice vote. Consent items recorded included multiple payment vouchers and a purchase order to Electronic Contracting Company (PO #8008) for $359,112.49; payroll and employee deduction totals were also entered into the record.
Later in the meeting the board recessed into executive session twice—first for attorney-client privileged discussion of litigation strategy from 10:00–10:15 a.m., then for a 15-minute preliminary discussion of a real-estate acquisition involving potential land purchase from 10:15–10:30 a.m. No action followed either executive session. Chair Neal Younger adjourned the meeting at 10:32 a.m.
