The Wyoming County Board of Supervisors on May 12 approved multiple budget moves to cover county operating needs and legal expenses.
Finance Committee Chairman Mr. Kehl presented Resolution 26-259 transferring $33,730 to cover an unbudgeted cooling-tower coil replacement at the Health Department and $35,071.17 moved back to the capital improvement program for the Retaining Wall Project (total Buildings & Grounds transfers $68,801.17). The board also approved Resolution 26-260, which appropriated funds including $1,610 for a BOLD public-health program award and $28,988 for CYSHCN-SS add-on funding, and appropriations to Emergency Services totaling $74,175 for CARES UP and recruitment/retention grants and pre-hospital medical direction services.
Later in the meeting the board approved Resolution 26-298 to appropriate $30,000 for retained outside counsel and then, as a non-consent item, passed Resolution 26-299 to appropriate $200,000 for ongoing litigation expenses. The non-consent appropriation passed by roll call (Ayes 149, Noes 22). The actions were described as contingent upon availability of funds and subject to County Attorney approval.
The semi-annual mortgage-tax report was presented in the same session, authorizing the Treasurer to distribute $285,783.34 to Wyoming County tax districts for the period Oct. 1, 2025–Mar. 31, 2026. The board took these actions as part of its regular session business and recorded no additional debate on the appropriations.
