Council approves minutes, hears reports and schedules special canvass meeting

"So moved," a council member said, and after the mayor called the question the vote was recorded as unanimous.
Members then provided brief reports — including a historic‑preservation meeting, back‑to‑school distribution at Mesa High School, recognition events for police promotions and the opening of a new Polaris Academy location in Mesa — and staff announced a special council meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10 to canvass election results.
"We will convene for a special council meeting on Monday, August 10 in order to canvass the results of the election," Butler said. The council adjourned the study session and moved to the regular meeting upstairs.
