Board approves intent to dedicate easement to PG&E for EV chargers at Crow Canyon Road

The board approved a resolution declaring its intent to dedicate easement space to Pacific Gas & Electric at the district service center (3300 Crow Canyon Road) to support an electric-vehicle charging station project.
Executive Director Chris Hansen described the requested easement in detail: "As part of the as part of the district EV's charging station project, PG and E is requesting a, 10 foot wide easement of underground conduit and a separate 20 by 33 foot easement area for a transformer, and related equipment." He said PG&E already has communication facilities nearby and that state law requires a two-step process: tonight’s action was the board’s intent to convey the easement and a public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18 before final approval.
Board members asked about the scale of the project; President Ordway asked how many electric buses the district will have and Hansen replied, "I think it's 10." The board voted to adopt Resolution 39-26/27 and to schedule the required public hearing. Staff said the easement will allow the district to charge buses acquired with state grant funds.
