Kanawha County Schools tightens classroom tech guidance, will 'move beyond Schoology' for daily assignments

Staff pointed to programs used in intervention (ALEKS for math and Lexia for literacy), said guidance will limit ALEKS usage to baseline expectations (about 30–45 minutes per week in some settings) and signaled a timeline to reduce routine Schoology reliance by January to prioritize in-class engagement and face-to-face instruction. Administrators will follow up with building leaders and teacher-leaders to help teachers align to the new checklist-based approach.
