Public commenters challenge superintendent pay and hiring at EDINBURG CISD board meeting

Alonda Flores told trustees she was speaking for teachers who want respect and support from district leadership. "You can change the curriculum. You can upgrade the technology. You can rewrite the test. But none of it works without a teacher who feels valued, supported, but most of all, respected," Flores said. She urged the board to "do the right decision" in the superintendent search and cautioned that intimidation of staff "isn't working anymore."
