Planning staff presented the application for 27925 Lakelawn Drive: three variance requests to exceed the shoreland impervious threshold, construct within a 75-foot ordinary-high-water setback required on Croon Lake, and exceed accessory-structure area. Staff explained the applicants will mitigate impervious impacts using 889 sq ft of pervious pavers and will retain the existing cabin as an accessory dwelling unit only after water access is addressed.
Council discussed public comments from neighboring property owners and the planning commission's recommendation of approval with additional conditions, including that the accessory dwelling cannot be occupied until water/well issues are resolved. A councilmember made a motion to adopt the planning commission recommendation; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
What happens next: Staff will include the conditions of approval in final zoning documents and verify well locations and setback compliance before issuing building permits.
