At the start of the meeting Beckemeyer Principal Frailey reported that students had used '507 fewer absent days when compared to last year' after the district's attendance incentives. Junior High Counselor Jen Anderson introduced student council members Layla Spinner, Brielle Harbert and Adaley Wessel, who presented the board with gifts in honor of School Board Member Appreciation Month.
Board President Matt Lentz and other trustees received the recognition as the board moved through routine minutes and consent items. The minutes record the attendance-improvement figure and the student council presentation but do not include longer remarks or discussion about next steps on attendance initiatives.
