Hillsboro board accepts resignations and approves hires; names new superintendent effective July 1, 2025

Following executive session the board accepted multiple resignations, approved new hires and leaves, and voted 7-0 to employ Hope McBrain as superintendent beginning July 1, 2025.
After an executive session on personnel matters the board approved a series of personnel actions on Nov. 12. Motions (by Nathan Kirby with seconds by John Lentz) accepted resignations from Special Education Teacher Danielle Pope, Coffeen nurse Amanda Cloe, Food Service Worker Kellea Passariello, Girls Tennis coach Marian Williams and custodian Zach Rhodes. The board also approved employment of Martina Aguilar (food service), Taylor Meyers (teaching assistant) and Vanessa Compton (special education teacher, pending state and local requirements), and approved a leave of absence for teaching assistant Katelyn Davis and a volunteer assistant wrestling coach Dan Rogers.
In a separate roll call motion the board approved the employment of Hope McBrain as superintendent beginning July 1, 2025; the vote was 7-0. The minutes record the decisions but do not include salary, contract length, or other employment terms for the superintendent appointment in the text.
