The Mount Carroll City Council voted unanimously to authorize payment of 31 claims payable totaling $95,392.26 during its Sept. 10 meeting.
Alderman Jeff Elliott moved to approve the claims; the motion passed on a recorded roll call. Mayor Carl Bates told the council the city’s bank account balances totaled $4,107,115.26.
The payment authorization followed routine approval of the Aug. 27 meeting minutes. Council members discussed—but did not alter—budget items connected with several new-business items later in the meeting.
