The Brookings County Planning and Zoning Commission approved four proposed plats during its May 2026 meeting, moving each forward after staff determined they complied with the county subdivision ordinance and the Lake Park zoning standards. Richard Rodriguez, county zoning staff, told the commission the plats will create Lot 14A in Country Club Estates (51,699 sq ft) and re-establish several family and lake-district lots that meet the 20,000-square-foot minimum.
Rodriguez said the applicants were not present for these items and no members of the public spoke in favor or opposition. Each matter was opened for public hearing, closed with no testimony, and approved by voice vote. The commission’s procedural chair read the motions and staff read the roll call; the votes recorded were unanimous 'Aye' for each plat. The commission did not attach additional conditions beyond standard platting requirements and directed staff to issue final copies and take the usual administrative follow-ups.
