UDOT breaks ground on 1.9-mile Vernal trail linking local schools and campus

Nick Naylor, speaking for the Utah Department of Transportation, announced a groundbreaking in Vernal for a 1.9-mile multi-use trail that is part of the Utah Trail Network. "Recently, UDOT broke ground on a 1.9 mile multi use trail," he said, describing the project as an addition to the statewide trail system.
UDOT said the trail will provide direct connections to nearby schools and the USU Uinta Basin campus. Naylor listed the primary connections and benefits: "It will connect students directly to Uinta High School, Terra Academy, and the USU Uinta Basin campus." He also told attendees that crews anticipate minimal traffic disruptions because "the construction will be done off the road next to the Steineker Canal," and encouraged residents to prepare for an opening "at the end of this year."
