Meuer briefed the committee that a grant identified after the 2026 budget was set allowed acquisition of higher-resolution orthoimagery; the aerial flight occurred in April. Committee members discussed the grant and its purpose to improve county geospatial data.
Budde moved and Ott seconded to accept the grant funding and forward the budget amendment to the County Board for acceptance; the motion carried unanimously. Staff said the amendment is needed because the grant was identified after the original budget was adopted and will allow the county to use the higher-resolution imagery for planning and GIS work.
