Director Crawford explained the update is mandated and that the firm could reuse existing data to keep the cost near prior updates.
Council members asked technical questions about groundwater and saltwater intrusion risks along the coast; staff said the update will examine groundwater allocations, saltwater intrusion risks and potential use of additional wellfields. The motion to approve the CSA passed 5-0.
Staff will return with the completed work plan and any operational recommendations arising from the update.
