The May 19 meeting opened with a district-produced senior recognition video and short presentations by student ambassadors. Superintendent Dr. Melissa Stewart introduced seniors and community partners and celebrated multiple student accomplishments across academics, service and arts.
The board recognized the high-school academic quiz team for winning the Division II state championship in Columbus; team members described answering broad-topic questions under pressure and coach Missy Hardy praised their resilience after coming through the consolation bracket to win the title. "My name is Missy Hardy. I coach this group of, amazing student athletes," Hardy said as she congratulated the team.
The district also highlighted DECA competitors who advanced to international competition, students recognized by the Nancy and David Wolf Holocaust and Humanity Center Upstander Awards, recipients of scholarship or signing ceremonies for arts and military futures, and the Buckeye Girls State delegate selection. Board awards included community partner recognition for the Greenacres Foundation and alumni awards.
