Council approves Hannah Farms PUD amendment adding brick and landscaping requirements

The Martinsville Common Council approved the second reading of Ordinance 2026-1918, a planned unit development (PUD) amendment for Hannah Farms that clarifies materials and landscaping requirements. Cheyenne Hoffa, entitlements manager with Forrester Group Indianapolis, told the council the amendment adds language to require additional brick on three homes and enhanced landscaping to screen the neighborhood from Artesian Avenue. "We're clearing up some language for some additional brick and additional landscaping to help screen from Artesian Avenue," Hoffa said.
Hoffa said six homes are affected by the change: three will have brick facades and three will be shielded by the enhanced planting. She said the development remains under developer control until a specified percentage of homeownership is reached, at which point maintenance of the common landscaping will transfer to the homeowners association. After council discussion about maintenance and pond safety details, a motion to adopt the ordinance was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
