"In total, it's 242 acres or 242.31 acres, which we'd like to be very, very specific," the presenter said.
Staff also summarized the city's grant program: since 2023 the city awarded 14 HOA grants and 12 homeowner grants totaling $69,112; in 2025 the city awarded 7 HOAs and 7 homeowners a combined $25,850. Staff said the city will submit documentation to the Colorado State Forest Service and expects to receive $99,000 in reimbursement tied to 120 grant acres, and that an outreach grant will fund short (3–5 minute) social media videos with South Metro Fire and Douglas County (about $36,000 reimbursement when complete). Staff described a maintenance plan to revisit treated sites every three years using mowing and goats to maintain defensible space.
