Collector outlines website migration, VIN uploads and upcoming tax sale for 151 parcels

Cass County Collector Chris Mullen told the commission on July 15 that his office is migrating its taxpayer portal to a new vendor and cloud hosting to reduce monthly costs and improve service. "Our goal is to go live midnight, July 31," he said, and warned taxpayers that they might encounter problems with the portal during the cutover weekend.
Mullen also said the county will begin nightly uploads of VIN and serial numbers to the Missouri Department of Revenue starting Aug. 3 and outlined tax sale procedures. He said there are 151 parcels left for the August 24 tax sale, that publication dates will run in the Tribune/Times on Aug. 23, Aug. 30 and Aug. 6 (as recorded in the meeting), and that the sale will be held in the historic courthouse beginning when the clock tower strikes 10 a.m. He noted plans to use digital timestamping for yard signs and to staff the sale with deputies under an extra duty program. The commission approved the publication award for the tax sale as Resolution 26-69.
