Lantana proclaims February 2026 as 2-1-1 Awareness Month; local operators outline services

Elizabeth Barrows, speaking for the regional 2-1-1, said the organization has "been serving the community here for 55 years," emphasizing crisis intervention, suicide prevention and a role as the regional responder for the national 988 lifeline.
Sarah Haas, who the speakers identified as a programs manager overseeing senior and veterans programs, told the council that 2-1-1 answered over 120,000 requests each year across a five-county region and that the organization provides developmental screenings, caregiver support and an elder crisis outreach program. Haas said the organization is planning a new locally based 12,000-square-foot building in Lantana and encouraged residents to call two-one-one for services and employment opportunities.
